So, your biggest criteria were your budget, and you went way overboard. So, instead you and your fiancé decided to hire someone to “Just Play Music.” Do you want the good news or bad news first? Okay straight to the good news, you just saved a couple of hundred bucks! Unfortunately, your decision might cost you much more down the road. This category of wedding DJ’s is priced all over the place. Usually many are larger wedding DJ companies that subcontract 15-25 wedding DJ’s every weekend. They improve their profit margin this way (more DJ’s=smaller profit margin) to support advertisements and overhead. There are many good DJ’s that are subcontracted by these companies. However, they might be so big that you might not even know who your wedding DJ will be until the week of.

You pretty much have most of the vendors chosen for your event. Now onto the DJ pricing. How much does an event DJ cost? You will see many different DJ prices. Keep these points in mind and you will find the right one.
Cheap DJ Prices
These prices will usually be in the ranges of $75 per hour or less. Many of these event DJ’s are part-time hobbyists. They might have no idea how to coordinate and deliver what you want at your wedding, sweet 16 etc. Just call these companies and you will notice a huge difference with their customer service skills. This might be a risky deal because they might show up with low grade equipment (if they even show up at all). There is a possibility that you can spend $200-$400 on your DJ and be happy, but you have to understand what cheap DJ prices really mean.
Our recommendation: Never hire a DJ that costs less than your veggie tray.
